I love you. I love cooking for us. I hate dogs. Don’t even care about trauma anymore – I just hate them. Will never hurt a dog, but I unconditionally hate it. I love your jokes. If these lentils smell good but look like dogs’ puke, it’s ok. I love you. I would glad eat your puke with no effort nor disgust. I just hate dogs and I love you. The thought of passionate cooking being associated with a dog just struck me like an abject, incongruous thing. It’s not the puke. It’s the dog. It’s quite beautiful that love can exist in a world filled with dogs. For me, this love denies their abject presence. You do like them. When we go out to buy lentils you point them out and I acknowledge their presence with a grunt and smile for you, because I’m happy that you can enjoy something that is utter horror for me.
